I’ve been writing for at least 75% of my life, and I’d say for the first 65% of that, I felt like what I was writing simply wasn’t good enough. Not even close.
Heck, there are days when I’m not convinced the thing I wrote yesterday is good enough. As a creative person, does that mean I stop creating?
Nope. And Ira Glass perfectly illustrates why.
I’m a rabid listener to This American Life, and Ira Glass is a big reason why. I love the eloquence with which he lays out his thoughts on the creative process, and hopefully folks will pull something from it like I did.
